My first really serious band, Elbows Akimbo was actually a performance troupe that formed while I was a student at SF State University's Center for Experimental and Interdisciplinary Arts. The musical core of the group eventually developed an identity of its own and played out separately from the rest of the performers, This led to no small amount of confusion! To add to this, there was a lot of overlap between Elbows and other groups I was to be involved with. Polymorphia, the Enormous Ensemble and Aether all were connected to and shared members with Elbows Akimbo, so it was often difficult to work out where to put certain songs, when compiling this archive. If the only recordings of songs that featured in Elbows productions were performed by one of those other groups, I went ahead and filed them here, if there were duplicate or different recordings then I've put up both in their respective places.

about

Diana Rosalind Trimble New Orleans, Louisiana

After being discovered by Bobby McFerrin as a young vocal improviser in San Francisco, I continued to sing and write in experimental performance ensembles that remain important in the history of the 80s & 90s Bay Area arts scene, followed by one decade of tangling with the music biz in LA & NYC (read Little Tiger on here), then another in Europe, always making records of collabs along the way! ... more

Track Name: Breasts of Buildings
There's a building
That looks like a round man
lying in the hills
And between the arcs
One can draw a woman of sorrow
in the sky

You can find me
In the breasts of buildings....
