This was during the second phase of my recordings with Garvey, at the end of the 90s, by which time he'd begun working with the wonderful kora player and guitarist, Daniel Berkman.

Three Fates was originally meant to appear in a live stage show based on the life of Francisco Goya, the 18th/19th century Spanish artist of great genius whose style influenced Frank's own excellent oil paintings.

I was going to use Goya's "Witches Sabbath" for the image here but preferred this roughly contemporaneous painting by Henry Fuseli: "The Three Weird Sisters".
